Very disappointed that I am being charged for a third time in as many months for the same issue. I’ve had a service contract for over a decade and when it was time to replace my air conditioner I didn’t call anyone else even for an estimate; I automatically went with Bay Heating & Air Conditioning. This experience gives me pause to consider that loyalty.

On Saturday morning my furnace stopped working and a message was on the controller screen "System Malfunction, call Technician". I called and Brian Miller was sent out. He identified the cause and determined a major repair was required that could not be done until next week. He was able to get the furnace running well enough to keep the house reasonably warm until the repair can be performed.

Checked furnace operation OK customer turning thermostat to 65 and then back up to 73 to 75 which is quite drastic suggest only going maximum of 5° at setback because energy saved during setback is consumed getting temperature back up to desired setting when occupied found no problems with heating system.
Found furnace reading code 42 which is not on status codes of furnace looked in infinity control and 42 is indicating inducer fault inducer did start in test mode ramped up then shut down still flashing code 42 turn off system turned fan to low instruct customer not to put space heaters on same circuit which was what tripped circuit breaker when she tried this morning
Found system with adjustments made to bypass first stage heating. Also fan jumped up from low to med hi. System is oversized for home. My strongest recommendation is to replace entire system for proper operation. To add humidifier new plenum would have to be fabricated.

Nono heat. I found the thermostat hanging on the wall. One wire had broken off for communications. I remounted thermostat to the wall , reattached the wires and cycled the furnace with proper operation.
No heat. Upon arrival I found the furnace locked out on limit tripped. I reset the furnace and it fired I found the reason was a blocked filter. The customer has a filter somewhere and says they will replace it.
Found 3 amp fuse blown. Check for shorts, none. Replace fuse and filters in both rooftop units, cycle to check, ok.
